The process for applying and interviewing for a vacancy with the City of Panama City Beach is a bit different than in the private sector The City's Civil Service Charter and Rules require a step-by-step process. As an applicant, you may download the appropriate application for the job you are interested in, or you may come to the Civil Service office between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. with originals of your support documents to complete the entire application and testing process, if testing is required. The Civil Service office is located inside City Hall at 17007 Panama City Beach Parkway.
All applications will be reviewed and the top 10 applicants for a vacancy will be interviewed at the next regularly scheduled Civil Service board meeting. The Board tries to meet the first Wednesday of each month, and if necessary, the third Wednesday of the month. Once interviews are completed, the Board will select the top three applicants for hiring consideration. The three successful applicants will be interviewed at the department level. The department makes a recommendation to the Board who in turns makes the recommendation to the City Manager. The City Manager makes the final decision for all hiring in the City.
