Junior Lifeguard Camp set
Learn the ins and outs of lifeguarding and beach safety at this Junior Lifeguard Camp coming up in July. This annual summer camp is always a favorite. There will be two one-week sessions in July, with classes for younger kids in the mornings and older kids in the afternoons.
Classes are limited to 20 participants per class for all four sessions. Students must be registered prior to camp. The fee is $100 per child (payable by check only). The fee includes a rash guard and water bottle. Registration begins Monday, June 22. Register Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fire Station 31, 17121 PCB Parkway. There are three opportunities to try out. Tryouts, which are not required but are highly encouraged, are at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, Tuesday, June 30 and Friday, July 3 at the Russell-Fields City Pier in front of Pier Park.

Children 8-11 years old, 8-11 a.m.
Children 12-15 years old, Noon-3 p.m.
MUST BE ABLE TO SWIM.
Activities include swimming, paddling, running, race relays, rescues, wildlife education, beach flags, team building and lots of fun. Students will learn water orientation, basic water safety, rescue techniques, marine life identification and more, all on the world's most beautiful beaches.
