Bay County temporarily closes Rick Seltzer Park
FROM BAY COUNTY:
Construction work will temporarily close Rick Seltzer Park from Tuesday, May 26 through Monday, June 1 in order to pave and stripe the parking lot. The Thomas Drive entrance to the park will be closed to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. No parking or beach access will be permitted during construction.
The work is part of the Thomas Drive improvement project. In addition to paving the parking lot at Rick Seltzer Park, the $8.3 million effort includes resurfacing a 3.1-mile segment of Thomas Drive between Bristol Street and Joan Avenue.
The work is funded by the County's Half-Cent Surtax approved by voters in 2016. Construction activities are currently estimated for completion later this year.
