City Council adopts new policy on public comments during meetings
The Panama City Beach City Council approved a resolution Thursday night which allows for greater transparency and public input during public Council meetings. The new protocol allows for anyone to speak at meetings, regardless of whether or not they are residents of the City. There is now a designated time at the beginning of the City Council meetings for anyone to speak on anything NOT on the City Council agenda. Additionally, the public can also comment on each agenda item, as it comes up on the agenda.
Council members decided to NOT require speakers to fill out comment cards as part of the public comment process. The change was initiated during the Thursday night meeting.
