City goes to virtual meetings

The City of Panama City Beach is utilizing a virtual GoToMeeting service for future City Council and other public meetings, beginning Thursday, March 26.

For the 9 a.m., March 26 meeting, public comment on agenda items or topics in accordance with the City’s Delegation’s period may be submitted in writing in advance or by live audio via GoToMeeting. Written comments must be emailed to Public Information Officer Debbie Ward at

Written comments may not be read in their entirety, but rather similar messages may be aggregated or paraphrased for submission to the Mayor and Council.

If you are interested in only viewing the meeting and not speaking at the meeting, we encourage you to watch via City of Panama City Beach-Government Facebook page or at (Click on City Council, scroll down to City Council Meeting Live Webcast).

Live audio comments may only be made via GoToMeeting. Comments will only be accepted at times designated for public comment by the Chair of the meeting. The Cities rules of procedure, decorum, and rules governing the Delegations period, shall be followed and enforced in the same manner as if the meeting were held in person.

Only those citizens intending to make a public comment via live audio should access the meeting as follows:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar that is unique to each registered attendee. To join the day of:

    All participants are required to give Full Name, Address and E-Mail address to join the meeting and specify which agenda item you are interested in speaking.

    Once the meeting has begun:

  • Attendees will be given the option of using the audio from the telephone or from the smart device with instructions on using both
  • All attendees will be automatically placed on mute once joined
  • Speaking will be permitted only during Public Comments portions of the meeting by using the “raise hand” or ask by typing into the chat box
  • NOTE: There is a 2-3 second delay from the audio to the video stream

    It would greatly help City staff if questions could be emailed to Public Information Officer ( PRIOR to the beginning of the meeting, and ideally before 8 a.m. Thursday.
