FDOT to host road safety audit on left turn on Panama City Beach Parkway
FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning the intersection pictured above on Panama City Beach Parkway near the Home Depot. The hearing is Tuesday, September 10 at the Lyndell Conference Center, 423 Lyndell Lane, Panama City Beach. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 6 p.m., followed by a public comment period.
This hearing is being held to provide interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of this project is to provide safety improvements along the corridor. PCB City Councilmen drew attention to this intersection earlier this year by pointing the high number of traffic accidents at the location. Public Works employees moved swiftly to close off the left turn lane.
Maps, drawings and other information will be on display at the hearing. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Additional information is available on the project website nwflroads.com. City officials will also be in attendance.
Persons wishing to submit written statements and other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them the Project Manager at the contact information listed below. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before Friday, September 20 will become part of the public hearing official record.
For more information, please contact Michael Lewis, P.E., Project Manager at (850) 330-1266 or at email@example.com, or by mail at 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, Florida 32428.
