Law enforcement brings down White Boys drug gang
The Panama City Beach Police Department announces the culmination of an almost two-year, multi-jurisdictional investigation into a local poly drug trafficking gang who referred to themselves as the “White Boys.” This investigation has led to 62 arrests over two years and the confiscation of two dozen firearms, more than $81,000 in cash and a cache of drugs consisting of cocaine, marijuana, THC oil, opioids, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Law enforcement began a multi-jurisdictional investigation in August 2017 into a local poly drug trafficking gang who referred to themselves as the White Boys. During the investigation, authorities learned this local drug gang was responsible for a multitude of violent crimes and property crimes in and around Bay County. Law enforcement was also able to link this gang to the distribution of guns and drugs to local high school students. In December of 2017, members and associates of this gang committed an armed home invasion robbery that resulted in the homicide of Peyton Meyers, 18, at the 79 West apartment complex. It was through the investigation of this homicide that law enforcement was able to learn the inner workings of the White Boys' distribution network.
Law enforcement made it their mission to identify the leaders of this network, identify the White Boys' supply sources, and dismantle the entire network.
As the investigation progressed, law enforcement learned several of the sources of supply were moving thousands of pressed fentanyl pills, multiple kilos of cocaine and hundreds of pounds of marijuana. Through the distribution of these drugs subjects generated over $2 million of proceeds per year which trickled down to members and affiliates of the White Boys network.
Last week a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement operation commenced which resulted in the execution of four residential search warrants and 26 arrests. More arrests are expected and there are several subjects who have active warrants that law enforcement have not been able to locate.
During this investigation a total of 62 subjects were arrested as being directly or indirectly related to the activities of the White Boys drug gang.
In addition to the arrests, law enforcement seized the following:
- Firearms: 24 (one with a silencer)
- Fentanyl: 2.7 pounds
- Cocaine: 68 pounds
- Methamphetamine: 10 ounces
- Marijuana and marijuana products: in excess of 150 pounds
- Opioid pills: 269 pills
- THC Oil: Thousands of vials
- Vehicles: 6 vehicles
- U.S. Currency: $81,762
