Parks & Recreation announces Summer Camp schedule

Post Date:05/10/2019 3:20 PM

Hey, moms and dads, what’s on your child’s schedule for this summer?

How about a fun circus camp where basic circus skills can be mastered or a dinosaur camp with a dig? Or maybe an introduction to the game of golf with a fundamentals class at Holiday Golf Club? Or learn tennis with pro Rob Carlson?

The Panama City Beach Parks and Recreation Department has a summer full of activities planned for all interests and all ages. Summer Camps start the week of June 3 and run all summer long, ending August 2. There are camps for those as young as 4 through age 18. Fees vary depending on the camp, and start at $25.

“The Parks and Recreation staff always looks forward to the summer camp season,” said Erin Conley, Parks and Recreation Parks Resource Supervisor. “We try to offer something that will appeal to a wide range of interests with the emphasis on fun. The children love summer camp – and so do their parents. We have a lot of repeat campers.”

Summer Camp registration is now open so don’t delay before signing up, as class sizes are limited and many of these camps fill up. Parents must register in person at Frank Brown Park Community Center. A registration form can be printed at panamacitybeachparksandrecreation.com. Go under Activities & Sports and click on “Kids’ Activities.”

Some camps have special requirements such as a deep water swim test, and children are asked to bring a sack lunch for some camps. See specific details and any other needed paperwork on the website.

Every participant will receive a FREE Summer Camp T-Shirt with their first camp registration. For every five additional camp registrations, you will receive a second FREE Summer Camp T-Shirt, while supplies last. Additional T-shirts can be purchased for $5 each.
