Bird Art and Walk March 12, March 23
From the Bay County Audubon Society:
Floriopolis art gallery in St. Andrews is teaming up with the Bay County Audubon Society to hatch a whole new flock of birdwatchers. On Tuesday, March 12, from 3-6 p.m., Floriopolis is hosting a meet-n-greet. Come learn about the local chapter of the Audubon Society, meet some members, and make some bird art. Drop in anytime within that three-hour window at 2629 W. 10th St., Panama City.
All ages are welcome and there will be plenty of crafty activities for adults, teens, and families. Come and paint a bird on a canvas, make a field journal, create a note holder with a picket fence top, make a “shrinky dink” Audubon keychain, color amazingly detailed hand-drawn coloring pages and learn about our local birds.
Then on Saturday, March 23, at 7:30 a.m., you can embark on your first bird watching trip, with field journal in hand, at the Panama City Beach Conservation Park, located just off Panama City Beach Parkway west of State Road 79. Experienced bird watchers will show you the way. Binoculars will be provided. When you're done, the group will have a watercolor painting station so you can paint something you saw to commemorate your first day as a bird watcher.
No RSVPs are necessary. The events are free of charge. The Audubon Society encourages residents to experience this bird watching event and have fun creating something afterwards.
