Longleaf Pine seedlings to be planted Feb. 2
The Panama City Beach Parks & Recreation Department is spearheading a mass planting of longleaf pine seedlings at the PCB Conservation Park on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 10 a.m. to Noon. Volunteers are welcome to come out and take part.
The planting is part of the City's ongoing conservation efforts at the 2,900-acre park to maintain and re-establish the park's longleaf pine ecosystem. This event is being held in conjunction with the Florida Forest Service. Tree seedlings and equipment are provided. Volunteers should wear work clothes and tennis shoes or boots.
The park is located at 100 Conservation Drive. From the intersection of Panama City Beach Parkway and State Road 79, travel west 1.2 miles and turn right (north) on Griffin Boulevard just past the La Quinta Inn. The park entrance is on the left. Meet next to the restrooms.
