Public Hearing for the FDOT PD&E Study PCB Parkway from Mandy Lane to Thomas Drive

Chipley, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public hearing concerning improvements to U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) from Mandy Lane to County Road 3031 (Thomas Drive). The Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study hearing will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CDT, followed by a formal presentation and public comments at 6 p.m. CDT at the Lyndell Center, 423 Lyndell Lane, Panama City Beach.
The intent of the project is to evaluate the need for increasing the capacity for the east-west travel demands on U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) in Panama City Beach. The intent of this hearing is to present the results from the engineering and environmental analysis conducted on the recommended build alternative. Public input received will be incorporated into the final documents and will be used in selecting a preferred alternative to be carried forward to the design phase which is funded. Right-of-way acquisition and construction are not funded in the current FDOT Five-Year Work Program.
Draft study documents and other information depicting the proposed improvements will be available for public review at the hearing. Representatives from FDOT will be available to explain proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Draft project documents are available for public review from Sept. 19, 2017 to Oct. 20, 2017, at the following locations:
- Panama City Beach Public Library, 12500 Hutchison Boulevard, Panama City Beach
- Monday – Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Thursday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- City of Panama City Beach, 110 South Arnold Road, Panama City Beach
- Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Meeting attendees will be able to comment during following the formal presentation, in writing via the comment form, and to the court reporter that will be at the meeting. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project. Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display.
